Ancient stories tell of people’s wish to fly like a bird. From the Indian Tales around Lord Hanuman, who flew too close to the Sun assuming its a Mango, to the Greek Myth about Icarus to attempt flying using a pair of wings made by his father with feathers and wax. Human curiosity and stubbornness has made him make trails even in the skies! But have you ever thought about how Air Transport came into being?

1. The Brazilian priest, Bartolomeau Lourenco de Gusmao was able to construct a working hot-air balloon but no one ever tried to fly in it. This was the first successful attempt by any human ever to reach the skies.
