Boman Irani: Man Who Overcame It All And Succeeded
Today, we will be talking about Boman Irani, who is pretty much known to everyone, but no one knows his struggle.

1. Boman Irani was born Dyslexic in Mumbai in a Zoroastrian Family after six months of his father’s death.

2. Boman Irani was also the victim of Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder, a type of mental disorder. He used to lisp too due to which he faced differences in brain-development and speech. But he was able to defeat them.

3. After completing his schooling, Boman Irani opted for a 2-year waiter course from Mithi Bai College. He undertook a waiter and room service job at Taj Mahal Palace and Tower for 2 years. Moreover, he was promoted to a French Restaurant, Rendezvous.

4. His love for movies helped him choose a field of passion, Cinematography. Boman used to watch a lot of cinema to observe the techniques of Cinematography.

5. Do you know Irani used to sell pictures as well? Yes, you heard it right. Boman Irani started a career in photography but soon got broke. He purchased a camera from the tips he earned at the Taj and used to click pictures of School sports and later sell them in Rs.20-30/pic.
6. There came a moment in his life which he describes as Zero Number Bulb Moment. He was on his first-ever family vacation trip to Ooty when he realized that he doesn’t want to spend his remaining life selling small photos. He thought, now he needs to take control of his life.

7. During his struggling years, Irani ran his father’s Namkeen shop for 14 years after his mother met with an accident.

8. At 32, Irani continued to be a Photographer. He wanted to capture the moments of the World Boxing Championship at Mumbai for which he requested the then President of the Olympic boxing association of India but got an answer as “NO!” multiple times.

9. Irani then offered to work under him for 6 months for free but in return to let him cover the Event. Agreeing to this deal, he received the post of Official Photographer after the President saw his coverage photos from different angles.

10. Irani was also passionate about his acting skills since his school days. He had been trained by his acting coach, Hansraj Siddhia, from 1981 to 1983.

11. After showing a stage performance to Shiamak Davar, at the age of 41, he got his first big break after doing many small roles and advertisements, which we all know about!
