Chris Dickerson: First Black Openly Gay Mr Olympia Winner

A black athlete, Chris Dickerson, is the one who has always believed in the idea of cooperation rather than confrontation. This genteel gay man belongs to the southern area of Alabama is a former bodybuilder who has won many titles, including the most eminent, Mr Olympia.

 

In this column, you’ll read all that you need to know about the life of this master bodybuilder–Chris Dickerson.

  1.  Born on 25 August 1939 in Montgomery, Henri Christophe Dickerson was one of the triplets of his parents.

2, He is 5’6″ tall. He is a former professional bodybuilder, model and also, a trained opera singer!

3. Chris Dickerson was the first African American AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) Mr America, most senior winner.

4. He was the first Black Gay Winner of the Mr Olympia title in 1982 and later, he retired after winning 50+ Masters Olympia Competitions.

5. His first competition was Mr Long Beach, where he came third. That’s a different thing though that he seized twelve titles on his name of Mr Long Beach later on!

6. Before making a third attempt at becoming Mr Olympia in 1982, he won Grand Prix Louisiana IFBB and Grand Prix California IFBB.

7. Chris’s net worth is estimated to be One Lakh Dollar.

8. If we believe the world wide web, then Dickerson currently lives in Florida. He lost his mother in 2019, February.

9. Currently, he continues to train, lead seminars and communicate with present athletes.

He was also a great model due to his exceptional theatrical abilities, along with a flawless and balanced body. Chris Dickerson was a tough fight for his contemporaries. Today, he continues to spark a passion for bodybuilding in many new athletes, through his name, struggle, life, and being itself.
