1. Scotsman Alexander Graham Bell invented the telephone in 1876 at 29 years of age after he had emigrated to Boston in the USA.

2. In 1876, Elisha grey claimed to have invented the telephone. But, Bell won, reaching the Patent Office first, beating Elisha just by just a few hours.
