Asif was first noticed in the famous 1998 TV show Woh. Over the years, he was seen in several Hindi films like Black Friday, Rules: Pyar Ka Superhit Formula, and Parzania. However, it was his role as tea-seller in Jab We Met that brought him nationwide recognition.

1. Hostages

Asif Basra played a role in the 2020 series that premiers on Star Plus and Hotstar. The series stars actors like Ronit Roy and Tisca Chopra. This is one of the works of Asif Basra that you can begin with.



2. Parzania

One of the works of Asif Basra was inspired by an actual incident that narrates the true story of a 10-year-old Parsi boy, Azhar Mody, who disappeared after the Gulbarg Society Massacre of 2002. Bisra received positive responses from critics for his acting in the film.



3. Jab We Met

In the Imtiaz Ali film starring Kareena Kapoor Khan and Shahid Kapoor, Asif was seen in just one scene. It is one of the most remembered works of Asif Basra. He immortalised it with his natural acting, getting his first nationwide recognition.

In this 2020 Amazon Prime Video thriller series, Asif played the role of Jai Malik, a journalist, and appeared in four episodes. The series is loosely based on the novel Story of My Assassins by the journalist Tarun Tejpal.

He played the role of a concerned father in this 2010 Milan Luthria film. Playing the role of Inspector Hussain Khan, Asif portrayed a father who tried to control his son from going astray. This is one of the best works of Asif Basra.

The acting skills of Asif were not limited to Bollywood, and the actor starred in the American romantic comedy playing the role of Puro. The movie revolves around an American (Todd Anderson) adjusting to the Indian work culture and Puro, trained by Anderson. He puts up a stellar performance as the Indian replacement.

Another of the good works of Asif Basra is where he again played the role of a journalist, this time a news channel editor, in the controversial 2019 movie The Tashkent Files. It is based on the death of the former Prime Minister of India, Lal Bahadur Shastri.

In Anurag Kashyap’s film released in India in 2007, Asif played the role of Shanawaz Qureshi. The movie is based on a book on the 1993 Bombay bombings. Asif played the role of one of the accused of the bombings.



9. Kai Po Che

In this 2013 movie starring actors Rajkummar Rao, late actor Sushant Singh Rajput and Amit Sadh as friends, Asif played the role of Nasir, father of a boy named Ali. The movie has many sub-plots, one of the most prominent ones is the three friends trying to teach cricket to Ali.
