If you love your Lil’ bunny and want to keep it happy-happy, then here is the list of food for guinea pigs that you should keep your eye on the next you go out shopping.

Guinea pigs are sociable pets. They can easily be tamed and can have a lifespan of up to 10 years, but only if their friendly nature is taken care of with the right food for their cute tummies.

Below is the handy-list of food for guinea pigs:

Vegetables:

Guinea Pigs love to eat green veggies that contain vitamins and minerals that help them improve their health.

1. Carrots: If you feed carrots in the right amount, they are a rich source of Vitamin A for your guinea pigs. Just make sure that you give this food in the right amount.

2. Cauliflower: Cauliflower is an excellent source of Vitamin C, Vitamin K and other minerals for guinea pigs. But remember that it also contains calcium and potassium, so avoid feeding it to them often. It can cause bladder stones in guinea pigs.

3. Spinach: Spinach is very high in Vitamin C and an excellent source of nutrients for guinea pigs, especially in wintertime, when it can also be easily bought.

4. Cucumber: Cucumbers contains Vitamin C and Vitamin K in large amounts, making them one of the best foods for your bunny.

Fruits

Fruits are goof food for Guinea Pigs as they contain vitamins and fibre. But, since fruits also contain sugar, feeding them too much can cause diabetes problems.

1. Apples: Apple is the best fruit-choice for guinea pigs as they have healthy and just the right amount of fibre (essential for their diet).

2. Cherries: Cherries are rich in antioxidants and help to fight free radical damage. Thus, it can be highly beneficial for your guinea pig!

3. Bananas: Bananas are the perfect treat for your Guinea pigs and should be given rarely to your pet (once or twice a month)

4. Pears: Pears are the best source of vitamins for Guinea pigs. Small dices of pears are beneficial but must be provided as a treat only as they also have sugar content.
