Horse Painting That You Must Consider!

Let’s talk about some of the iconic horse paintings which changed the whole viewpoint of the painting.

  1. The Horse Fair
  • Painting by: Rosa Bonheur in 1852-1855.
  • The Horse Fair is an oil-on-canvas painting. 
  • The painting displays dealers selling horses at the horse market held on the boulevard de l’Hôpital in Paris. 
  • Currently, the prime version of the painting has been kept in the Metropolitan Museum of Art in New York since 1887.
  • Dimensions: 2.44 m x 5.07 m.

  • Painted by: George Stubbs in 1762.
  • Whistle Jacket is an oil on canvas painting.
  •  The painting displays Marquess of Rockingham’s racehorse at LifeSize.

  • It can easily be seen in Museo Nacional del Prado

  • It represents the life of a legend in a Christian saint. Saint cut off his cloth and gave it to  Beggar. 
  • It can be easily found in the National Gallery of Art, Washington DC.
  • Dimensions: 1.94 m x 1.03 m.

These are the top horse paintings that history ever witnessed but we can’t forget the legendary painting from Majnu Bhai. “Rocking Horse” painted by Majnu Bhai in 2007. It reflects the message of how one animal can take the burden of another animal why humans can’t.
