Limbs Or Branches Of Science

Branches of science are like limbs and are as complicated as actual human limbs that make a body. “Science se hi zindagi shuru hoti hai aur khatam bhi,” is what the world of today functions on, and to make this work, enters in the branches of science.

Everything is connected. Science is the medium to every matter that exists in life. The subject is so vast that it has many practical and theory learnings associated with it. Having deep knowledge of the subject will enhance your understanding socially and naturally. So, without any further adieu, have a look into the branches of science (the limbs of science):

1. Physics

Physics is one of the branches of science that study space and time.

It is considered as the fundamental constituent that aims to learn more about the creation of the universe.

The actual research and innovation start after studying “real” physics.

Apart from Albert Einstein and Isaac Newton, other famous scientists were John Dalton (studied theory of atoms), Georg Simon Ohm (discovered Ohm’s Law) and many more.

2. Chemistry

Chemistry is those branches of science that deals with matter and its states (solids, liquids and gases).

The learnings of chemistry help to discover theories about the atom and its structure.

In chemistry, pH helps you to measure the acidic and basic quality of a chemical.

Many scientists have worked hard and gave us their best discoveries. Some of them are Justus, Baron von Liebig (analysed organic compounds), Linus Pauling (Researched the nature of chemical bonds), etc.

3. Astronomy

Astronomy is among the most intriguing branches of science that deals with life beyond earth.

A very vast subject, Astronomy studies all about the solar system, galaxies, and rest about the universe.

Astronomy told us about the layers after the atmosphere: exosphere, thermosphere, mesosphere, stratosphere and troposphere.

Richard D’Souza is an Indian priest-scientist who recently discovered that the Milky Way has a sibling.

4. Geology

Geology is the study of how and of what material is earth made.

The discipline tells you about different landforms and landscapes.

Everything related to climatic processes and rocks is what geology is about.

5. Zoology

Zoology is the sole science branch that studies animal life.

It also talks about the structure of living organisms like animals.

Many scientists also study how animals interact with the ecosystem. Like, scientist Dian Fossey studied gorilla groups.

6. Botany

The science that studies the whole plant kingdom is Botany.

Botany comes from the Greek word botane that refers to plans, grasses and pastures.

The actual study tells about the functionality of plants and their looks. How a person can use plant leaves.

The botanists also talk about the medicinal use of the plant.

7. Human Biology

Human Biology is that science branch that talks about subfields like genes, evolution, ecology, nutritional value, etc.

It is a multidisciplinary subject that focuses on analysing the framework of the human body. It also includes other fields like cultural, social and biological approaches.

It also mentions the role humans play and interact with other species of the natural world.

8. Oceanology

A type of science branch that studies the physical and physical features of the ocean.

It also talks about the ocean’s history, creation, evolution and future presence.

There are subtypes of this science branch:

a. Physical oceanography- the study of waves, currents, tides and ocean energy

b. Geological oceanography- the study of the sediments, rocks and coastal margins.

c. Chemical Oceanography- the study of the composition and properties of seawater.

9. Biochemistry

Biochemistry is one of the branches of science that deals with the relation between chemistry and living organisms.

The subject is learned and understood through laboratory practicals based on biology and chemistry.

Applications of the branch can be pregnancy tests, gene therapy, breast cancer screening, etc.

10. Microbiology

It deals with microscopic organisms like bacteria, viruses, etc. The most common word to name organisms is microbes.

Mostly the user device to search about microorganisms is a microscope that helps to examine microorganisms.

This is one of those branches of science that explores those organisms which are not visible to the naked eye.

Science itself is a very vast subject to discover as each tiny particle is related to the matter. All the branches of science say a lot about science as a subject itself, pacifying human hunger and curiosity for life, nature, and truth.
