1. On the coast of Saurashtra in Gujarat is Nagnath temple. It is located on the route between Gomati Dwarka and Bait Dwarka Island.

2. This Jyotirlinga is believed to protect one from all types of poisons. People believe that the person who worships this Jyotirlinga becomes free from all its poisonous effects.

3. According to Shiva Purana, once there was a demon named Daruka. He was cruel and tortured good people. But, he was also a big devotee of Lord Shiva.

4. One day, a girl named Supriya goes to the forest. In the forest lived the Demon Daruka with his wife, Daruki. Supriya was also the big devotee of Shiva. While sailing his goods, Daruka asked Supriya to teach him a path of devotion to Shiva.

5. Supriya refused to guide him because she knew he was a Demon. He used the powers in a wrong way and tortured more people, once he gained them.

6. In anger, Daruka started torturing Supriya, who remained unmoved from her position, as she had faith in Lord Shiva. She chanted the mantra, Om Namah Shivay, as she knew that Shiva would save her from Daruka.

7. After seeing what was happening, Lord Shiva, pleased from Supriya, appeared to save her. He killed the demon Daruka.

Later, Shiva defeated all the other demons in the forest. On the request of Supriya, the Lord then placed Himself in the form of Jyotirlinga.
