Firstly, Pattachitra Art is not about making pictures, painting leaves or fools. Like many other hidden gems of India, Pattachitra Art is a traditional art form that could be found in the roots of Odisha.
1. Pattachitra, where “Patta” means cloth while “chitra” means painting. Thus, the term Pattachitra can be defined as “a painting that is done on cloth”.

 3. Like many other traditional art forms of India, Pattachitra Art has found its appearance through spirituality. Traditionally, one paints Lord Jagannath, Bala Bhadra and Subhadra (originated as a substitute for the deities) on the cloth in the fixed shades of red, yellow, indigo, black and white.
