About Ramcharitmanas: The Lake of the Deeds of Rama

In schools, we all have read in our Hindi Class the story of Ramayana, and we all know it is one of the primary reads of Indian Subcontinent. This blog will be like a revisit and an insight in/around the same.
1. The meaning of the Ramcharitmanas is Lake of the Deeds of Rama.
2. The author of the Ramcharitmanas is Tulsidas.
3.Ramcharitmanas is written in Awadhi Language, and it consists of 10,902 shlokas.
4.It is a combination of 7-Kands, namely, Bal Kand, Ayodhya Kand, Aranya Kand, Kiskinda Kand, Sundar Kand, Lanka Kand and Uttar Kand.
5. Baal Kand: The beginning of Ramcharitmanas covers the conversation between Shiva and Parvati, the reasons behind the birth of Lord Rama. It covers the childhood episode of Lord Rama.
6.Ayodhya Kand: It covers the preparations around the Rajyabhishek (incarnation) of Lord Rama and fulfilment of the promise of Queen Kaikeyi.
7.Aranya Kand: Episode, where Sita gets kidnapped by Ravana and Surpanakha’s nose, is cut by Lakshman.
8.Aranya Kand: In this Kand, Lord Rama begins His search for Devi Sita. While on the journey, he encounters Lord Hanuman, Sugriva and Bali, who get killed in the hands of Lord Rama.
9.Sundar Kand: By this part, Lord Hanuman finds Sita. Vibhishana meets Lord Rama. Lastly, Hanuman sets Lanka on fire.
10. Lanka Kand: Here, Lord Rama finally killed Ravana. He, along with Maa Sita, comes back to Ayodhya. This is also the starting of Diwali Festival.
11.Uttar Kand: This is the last part of Ramacharitramanas. It covers the story of Lord Rama’s Rajya-Abhishek, the birth of Luv and Kush, Agni Pariksha of Maa Sita and Sita’s decision to go inside the Earth.
During the end of Ramcharitmanas, Lord Rama takes Samadhi into the water.
