Satish Kaushik is an actor, known for perfect comic timing and humorous catchphrases. Rehearsed for his first play on a beach because of no place to stay, but not established himself as a Multi Talented

1. Satish Kaushik was born on 13 April 1956 in Punjab. He grew up in the streets of Karol Bagh. He is well-educated as well as talented: a parent’s preferred combination which is hard to find.

2. Satish completed his education from Kirori Mal College (DU), National School of Drama and Films and Television Institute of India.

3. Satish never thought he would be making films, but he was motivated by one of his professors, who called him one day and very confidently said, Satish, become an actor.

4. Satish came to Mumbai, only having 800 rupees in hand, which his brother-in-law gave him.

5. He was lucky enough to get a part in a theatre play, Bichhoo, along with the actors like Naseeruddin Shah and Om Puri.

He rehearsed his dialogues on the beach as he did not have a place of his own.

6. Satish togetherly used to work in a textile mill on a salary of Rs. 400 but used to spend most evenings at Prithvi theatre.

7. Satish began his Bollywood career as an Assistant Director and Actor in Shekhar Kapoor’s Masoom (1983).

8. Kaushik also holds powerful writing skills as he wrote the dialogues for Kundan Shah’s Jaane Bhi Do Yaaron (1983).

He reunited with numerous of his college alumni at both FTII and NSD.

9. Kaushik inaugurated his Directorial career with Roop Ki Rani Choron Ka Raja (1993), followed by Prem (1995) before getting his first hit, Hum Aapke Dil Mein Rehte Hain (1999).

10. After that, Satish attracted a cluster of movies as an actor and gifted us numerous memorable characters in the name of Calendar, Pappu Pager, Chanu Ahmed, Airport, and many more.

11. Satish has also earned two Filmfare Best Comedian Award for Ram Lakhan and Saajan Chale Sasural.

12. Satish, almost Twenty Four years ago, lost his son when he was flooded with work. He didn’t even get the time to mourn his son’s death.
