Shayari Likhte Hai Kya Aap?
Poems consisting of couplets (shers) are known as Shayari. It was written in Urdu, Punjabi or Urdu. Several shers are grouped together to form a ghazal.
Precisely, do line, ek baat, ek khayal, ye hai sher.
- Sher (Couplet)
- Sher is a two-line sentence known as Misra.
- The first line of the sentence is known as Misra-e-oola, whereas the second sentence is known as Misra-e-sani.
- Example:
रोज़ रोज़ गिर कर भी मुकम्मल खड़ा हूँ, (MISRA-E-OOLA).
ऐ मुश्किलों देखो मैं तुमसे कितना बड़ा हूँ। (MISRA-E-SAN).
- Both types of Misra are principal forms of Urdu shayaris.
- Ghazal (غزَل)
- Ghazal is -liner couplet that should strictly start and end with the same rhyme under the predefined meters of the Ghazal
- There should be a minimum of 5 shers to form a Ghazal.
- First sher is known as Malta. The last sher is known as Maqta.
- Example:
तेरी महफ़िल मे भीड़ तो थी पर माहोल बडा वीरान था
मुझे यू तेरे करीब देख कर हर शख्स परेशान था…
- Masnavi (مثنوی)
- Masnavi is a poem written in a rhyming couplet for the last foot.
- Masnavi topics are sometimes romantic. Their poetry is written in Arabic, Persian, Urdu, and Turkish culture.
- Examples:
- ये जो महफ़िल में बताते हैं तुझे
भूल मत इस पर उड़ाते हैं तुझे
- एक दिन तुझको लड़ा देंगे कहीं
मुफ़्त में नाहक़ कटा देंगे कहीं
- Qasida (قصیدہ)
- Qasida is a satire of an event.
- It is similar to Ghazal due to rhymes, but they are longer as compared to Ghazals.
- एक रात यार त्रि जुल्फ का क्या विचार था?
अब तक, मेरे बाल दुश्मनी में मारे गए हैं
मैं तलाक में मर गया, लेकिन अब यह क्रूरता क्या है?
जीतने वाली गुड़िया लालसा के साथ मर चुकी है
यहाँ पर गिरने वाले कांपते हुए स्वाद को सुनें
भौंहें इस कदर हिल गईं कि अर्धचंद्र यहां कट गया
- Hamd (حمد)
- Hamd means Praise in English. Hamd is a poem in praise of Allah.
- Hamd is derived from the Quran. Ir is usually written in Arabic, Persian, Bengali, Punjabi or Urdu.
- Kahin kho gaya hai tujhme,
sara wajood mera.
Tu mile mujhe kahin to main,
Khud ko talash loon.
- Nazm (نظم)
- Nazm is a type of Urdu poetry that can be written on any topic.
- It is significantly written by controlling thoughts and feelings, constructively discussed, developed and finally, concluded, according to the poetic rules.
- Example:
Me janta hoon mera ye halath bhi badlega,
mera na-chahnewale bhi badlega!
bas mujhe us gadhi ki intezar hai,
jab mera taqdir badlega!
- Marsiya (مرثیه)
- Marsiya is a serious tone Shayari, first written on the death of Ali ibn Abi Talib.
- It is written in the rhyme scheme with 6 lines each in a stanza.
- Example:
कविता अर्थों का अशांत समुद्र है
जिसमें गलतियाँ हैं, सितारे हैं, यह लाल जमील है
रंग और गंध की सूक्ष्मता सुंदरता में खो जाती है
कविता यथार्थ के चेहरे पर एक मुस्कान है
ज्ञानी वही हैं, ज्ञानी ज्ञानी हैं
कवि वह है जो इस मुस्कान को पहचानता ह
- Renowned Shayars
- Amir Khusro is known as the foremost shayar in the world, born in 1253. Amir Khusro used to write in the Persian language.
- Mirza Galib is often considered the ultimate authority of Urdu Poetry.
So, these were the principles of Shayari. Everyone loves Shayari, whether to impress their crush, girlfriend, parents etc. The culture of Shayari is incredibly loved, but only a few know that they are not so simple to write. So, learn, read, practice, and write more!
