Let’s take a look at the story and life of Suraj Sharma, the actor who played Pi in his debut film, Life of Pi and went Viral immediately.

1. Born and brought up in a Malayali family in New Delhi and graduated from St. Stephen’s College (DU), Suraj went on to become a Global Star with his debut movie, Life of Pi (2012).

2. Suraj’s Father is a Software Engineer. His Mother is an Economist, his brother is also an actor and his sister is studying. Suraj’s Family belongs to Kerala.

Only some people know that it was not intended by Suraj Sharma himself, to audition for the film.

3. It was a Bonanza for Suraj Sharma! It was his younger brother who didn’t wish to go for the audition alone. He took Suraj along with him. Suraj gave a shot to his Acting.

And, ended up getting the lead role, Piscine Patel.

4. Suraj stated in an interview that for his role, he had to read several Novels, watched several movies of the 1960s and 1970s, and had to go through dialect training!.

Suraj also trained with the rats and had them ran all over his body!

5. Suraj went on to star in several Hindi and English movies such as Million Dollar Arm, Umrika, Burn Your Maps and made his mainstream Bollywood debut with Phillauri.
