  1. The coffee plant grows as a bush or a tree. Did you know? The coffee plant can carry blossoms and fruits known as coffee cherries.

  2. The coffee beans we use are the seeds of the coffee plant.

  3. The coffee cherries that are seen on the tree contain two seeds of coffee facing each other.

  4. There are about 80 different types of coffee. However, the two of the most prominent and predominating types are Arabica and Robusta.

  5. Coffee Arabica: This type is considered to be the oldest and the finest of all. It is more aromatic and less bitter with less caffeine.

  6. Robusta: This type contains twice as much caffeine as Arabica and is a lot less aromatic.

  7. The beans we ferment and brew are the processed and roasted seeds from the coffee cherry.

  8. Coffee comes from one of the largest families in the plant kingdom, Rubiaceae.

  9. FUN FACT: Okay, so this might gross you out but, it is a fact. Kopi Luwak or Cat poop coffee, the world’s most expensive coffee, is a product of coffee beans digested by an animal called an Asian Palm Civet.

  10. Apart from being delicious, coffee grounds help to exfoliate the skin and get rid of dead skin cells.
