Veerbhadra: Born with the Rage of Shiva on Sacrifice of Sati

Veerbhadra was the third incarnation of Lord Shiva and here’s the summarised story of the same!
1. According to Shiva Purana, one day Daksha Prajapati made arrangements for a great Yagna, inviting all Gods except Shiva.

2. But, Sati, the daughter of Daksha and wife of Shiva, was still going to this yagna, without invitation. This was as she felt affection toward her parents.

3. After reaching there, Daksha insulted her and her husband, Shiva, in front of everyone.

4. After hearing such wrong words about Her husband, Sati cursed everyone present at the Yagna.

5. She decided to sacrifice each one’s life in the fire, as an atonement for their mistake. She did the same, but by sacrificing herself into the fire.

6. After knowing the sacrifice of Sati, Shiva was in anger. He plucked a lock of His hair, thrashing it on the ground.

7. And so, Veerbhadra was born. His nature was an aggressive and angry one. He became the destroyer of the Daksha Yagna.

8. He destroyed everyone who was part of the yagna, looking like an angry Shiva.

9. After cutting the head of Daksha Prajapati, he came back to Kailash.
