Every minute there are about 350000 tweets posted on Twitter. It is the birthplace of the famous #Hashtag. What comes to your mind when you hear the word Twitter? I can only think of the tweety bird from the Looney tunes! #TweetTweet.
Unlike the cute little bird, there have been some less-than-cute moments on the social networking site Twitter. Let us take a look at the most controversial tweets of all time.

Writer/director James Gunn got fired from directing Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. three after a media personality brought attention to his offensive tweets about pedophilia and molestation on Twitter. In conversation with The Hollywood reporter, the chairman of Walt Disney studios said, “The offensive attitudes and statements discovered on James’ Twitter feed are indefensible and inconsistent with our studio’s values, and we have severed our business relationship with him”.

Amanda Bynes- The American actress was involved in a series of racist tweets on Twitter calling different celebrities ugly. Amanda Bynes has a history of drug use and imprisonment. She took her anger out on the singer Rihanna by calling her ugly and other various offensive tweets.

Charlie Sheen- The former Two and a Half Men star, was caught in a series of tweets on Twitter bashing the American Socialite Kim Kardashian after hearing a rumor that she refused to give an autograph to a six-year-old. He tweeted, “She cries about it every night before she goes to sleep” talking in the context of the kid. After a while, he apologized to Kim Kardashian through Twitter.

50 Cent- The Rapper 50 Coin, apologized for an insensitive tweet on Twitter regarding autism. Calling his fan Autistic he said, “Yeah just saw your picture fool you look autistic, and, “I don’t want no special ed kids on my timeline follow somebody else”. Later he apologized.“I realize my autism comments were insensitive, however, it was not my intention to offend anyone, and, for this, I apologize”.

Chris Brown- The American singer-songwriter created havoc with his tweet, “Ebola epidemic is a form of population control”. Many were in support of his theory; however, others opposed it.

Drake Bell- The Drake and Josh star, was caught offending the transgender community by his tweets on Twitter. Moments after the Olympic athlete came out as transgender named Caitlyn, Drake Bell tweeted, “Sorry….Still calling you Bruce”. After receiving backlash over his tweet he responded, “I’m not dissing him! I just don’t want to forget his legacy! He is the greatest athlete of all time! Chill out!”.

Lindsay Lohan- Five years ago, the Mean Girls star Lindsay Lohan threw shade at the Spiderman actress Emma Stone by tweeting on Twitter, wtf is Emma stone? After a while, she deleted her tweet.
